Staff

Our treatment team consist of Provisionally Registered Psychologists. All staff have completed a minimum of 4 years study in Psychology. Their practice is fully supervised by a Senior Psychologist/ Supervisor.

Tristan Lyon – Provisional Psychologist

Tristan is a warm spirited and affable individual who values an acceptance and mindfulness-based philosophy in his therapy.
Tristan is experienced in aiding children with developmental disabilities and adopts a stance of compassion, patience, and empathy when working with his clients.
He is passionate about assisting individuals who seek to cope with mood or anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders.
His professional philosophy centres around building a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients to guide them towards healthier strategies to live a fulfilling and balanced life.

Vanessa Challinor – Provisional Psychologist

Vanessa (she/her pronouns) has an open minded, empathic, and warm approach. She has a passion for working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals.
Vanessa has worked with clients across all ages in forensic, community and mental health settings.
She has experience with clients from diverse backgrounds with complex needs.
 
 

 Whitney Shamu – Provisional Psychologist

Whitney is a Provisional Psychologist with a Masters in Professional
Psychology. She is motivated to help every client learn healthy means of dealing with mental and emotional difficulties. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, results-orientated and solution-focused care.
She has experience working with children with special needs as well as adolescents and adults, and people from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. She likes to take an integrated approach to suit the needs of her clients. 
Whitney is fluent in English and Shona.

 Daniella Kocic – Provisional Psychologist

Danie has experience in working with individuals across a range of age groups and treatment settings. Her warm and collaborative approach to therapy gives clients the opportunity to gently explore their own narrative, so that they feel listened to and become more aware of their own thinking and behaviour patterns. Her work is evidence-based, client-centred, and guided by the core values of care and kindness.

  Laura Viana Lopez – Provisional Psychologist -NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS

Laura has experience working with clients of all ages and has a warm, client-centered approach. She is interested in working alongside clients with diverse cultural backgrounds and has experience using key therapeutic techniques for a variety of mental health-related issues such as anxiety and depression. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

  Katy Dib – Managing Director / Supervisor

Katy has been a registered Psychologist and Supervisor since 2007. She is a founder and Managing Director of Melbourne Affordable Psychology.
